Welcome to the web site for Rene Verduin CD & CMT - your companion through pregnancy, birth and beyond. In supporting growing families throughout this important transition, Rene brings her knowledge, comfort and a gentle presence while accompanying you as you welcome your new child into the world.

It is my belief that we, as women, are capable of being in tune with our bodies, and we are created in such perfection that the miracle of birth is no less than a profound and deeply connecting experience. We are able to find the trust in ourselves by remembering the centuries of women before us who have traveled on this path of birth. Historically, it was common for women to gather together to empower and support one another. It was the women who helped prepare and care for women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Sadly, we live in a fear-based culture that has lead us to believe that birth is a medical emergency. Lacking connection to deep tradition, we share few common rituals for honoring meaningful life events. Consequently, we women often find ourselves giving birth without our mothers, sisters or closest friends. It is my wish to help you discover that place of deep connection. Through physical support, listening, encouragement, and providing you with information, I will support you in carrying the trust in (and understanding of) your body throughout your labor, birth and postpartum experience. As Doulas and Educators, we are creating a new sense of community, a community where women truly support one another.
